Book of Genesis

The author is not mentioned in this book. However, other testimonies in the Bible indicate that Moses was the author of the entire Pentateuch (ie, the first five OT books) and therefore also Genesis (eg 1Ki 2: 3; 2Ki 14: 6; Ezr 6:18; Neh 13: 1; Dan 9: 11-13; Mal. 4: 4; Mr. 12:26; Luke 16: 29,31; John 7: 19-23; Acts 26:22; 1 Cor 9: 9; 2 Cor 3:15). Likewise the ancient Jewish writers and church fathers all stated that Moses became the author / author of Genesis. Because all history in Genesis occurred before the life of Moses, his role in writing Genesis was to compile, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, all the oral and written records that existed from Adam to Joseph's death which are now the contents of Genesis. What might be a sign of Moses' use of historical records when writing Genesis is that there are 11 times the use of "Thus history" or "Iniliah descendants" (Heb. "Toledoth") (which) can be translated "this is history by" (cf. Gen. 2 : 4; Gen. 5: 1; Gen. 6: 9; Gen. 10: 1; Gen. 11: 10.27; Gen. 25: 12,19; Gen. 36: 1,9; Gen. 37: 2 *).
Genesis records creation, the beginning of human history, and the origin of the Hebrew people and God's covenant with them through Abraham and other ancestors correctly. The accuracy of its history as an inspired Bible is confirmed in the NT by the Lord Jesus (Mt 19: 4-6; Matt. 24: 37-39; Luke 11:51; Luke 17: 26-32; John 7: 21-23; John 8:56 -58) and the apostles (Rom 4: 1-25; 1 Cor 15: 21-22,45-47; 2 Cor 11: 3; Gal 3: 8; Gal 4: 22-24,28; 1 Tim 2: 13-14 ; Heb 11: 4-22; 2Pet 3: 4-6; Jude 1: 7,11). History of Genesis is still reinforced by various ancient discoveries in modern times. Moses was wonderfully prepared through education (Acts 7:22) and by God to write the first unique book in the Bible.
Aim
Genesis provides an essential foundation for the Pentateuch and all subsequent biblical revelations. Genesis maintains the only reliable record of the beginning of the universe, mankind, marriage, sin, cities, languages, nations, Israel and the history of redemption. Genesis is written in accordance with God's purpose to give the people His covenant a basic understanding of Himself, creation, humanity, fall, death, judgment, covenant, and the promise of redemption through the descendants of Abraham.
